The boys and girls indoor track teams headed to the MIAA Division 5 Indoor Track and Field State Championships Feb. 16, where the girls placed second and the boys 23rd among more than 40 competing schools. Six runners qualified for this week’s All-State tournament.
At the MIAA Division 1 Swimming and Diving State Championships, the Bromfield girls were among the top 10 finishers, placing ninth among 37 competing schools; the boys finished 35th. Senior Dwight Childers placed 10th in the 200-yard freestyle race and broke the team’s record for that event.
The boys and girls Alpine ski teams ended their regular seasons last week, and both teams will send skiers to the state meet next month in Charlemont.
And the girls and boys basketball teams have both qualified for the MIAA Division 3 Central District Championships. Date, time, and brackets have yet to be announced.

- 2/16 MIAA Division 5 State Championships. Boys placed 23rd among 45 schools. Junior Cole O’Neil was third in the 300-yard dash.
