In the past week, police made two motor vehicle stops, both resulting in verbal warnings. The Ambulance Service responded to eight medical emergencies, taking eight people to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support services in attendance. Officers responded to six false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Feb. 11
Just before midnight, at 11:55 p.m. an officer alerted the Department of Public Works that roads throughout town were becoming icy, and it was time to start another night of sanding.
Wednesday, Feb. 12
At 2:37 p.m. a resident came to the station to report she had been bitten by a dog. Police notified the animal control officer. At 4:49 p.m. someone called 911 to report that a dog had been hit by a car on Pinnacle Road.
Thursday, Feb. 13
The midnight hour again brought icy roads, with an officer calling the DPW at 12:54 a.m. At 8:46 a.m. police logged a report of criminal harassment, which is defined as three or more phone calls that are harassing or threatening in nature.
Friday, Feb. 14
For the third night in a row—this time at 12:29 a.m.—an officer on patrol notified the DPW about hazardous road conditions. At 5:50 p.m. a driver called to report hitting a deer on Ayer Road. The vehicle sustained some damage, and the deer fled. At 9:03 p.m. a resident came to the station to say she had been pulled over by someone, and she wanted to be sure the person was a police officer; a check by Harvard police determined that she had indeed been stopped by a Boxborough officer. At 10:31 p.m. a Still River Road resident called to say he had come home after a trip and found the back door of the house ajar. An officer went to the house, checked the interior, and found nothing amiss.
Saturday, Feb. 15

Sunday, Feb. 16
At 2:11 a.m. police were notified of a crash on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction, and the Harvard ambulance squad took an injured person to the hospital. At 12:34 p.m. someone called to say a black-and-white dog with a collar was wandering along East Bare Hill Road; the animal control officer was told. At 1:08 p.m. a caller reported that a car had struck a mailbox on Ayer Road and then left the scene. Police were able to identify the car, and the driver and the mailbox owner were reaching an agreement.
Monday, Feb. 17
