As the former state representative for the 37th Middlesex District, I am pleased to endorse Dina Samfield, Democratic candidate for this seat in the Massachusetts State House.
Dina has been a community leader and advocate for public education in the Ayer Shirley community for over 15 years.
As the current chair of the Shirley Democratic Town Committee and a founding member of Indivisible Nashoba, Dina has organized several public forums on issues such as Medicare for all, climate change, and propaganda and the media, in which I have been happy to participate.
She is a former public school science teacher and program director for a community garden, and she lives with her husband Edward Maloney and son Dana, a senior at Ayer Shirley Regional High School.
Her commitment to making positive changes in the district and for the commonwealth has been inspiring. Dina will be a strong voice for greater economic equality, access to affordable health care, addressing climate change, women’s reproductive rights, and fighting for high-quality early childhood and public education.
Throughout Dina’s career, she has also been a voice for working families and has been endorsed by the Massachusetts AFL-CIO.
I am proud to support Dina’s candidacy and look forward to her representation of the 37th Middlesex District.
For those who may be unaware, the 37th Middlesex District consists of the towns of Acton, (Precincts 3, 4, and 5), Ayer (Precinct 2), Boxborough, Harvard, Shirley, and Lunenburg (Precincts A, C, and D).
The primary election will take place Tuesday, March 3; the special general election will be held Tuesday, March 31.
