Monty Tech’s continuing ed spring session starts
The spring 2020 session of Monty Tech’s continuing education program starts Feb. 24 and offers more than 120 classes in a wide range of areas. In addition to the numerous personal enrichment courses offered, the program continues to expand its courses in workforce readiness and development, particularly in high-demand career fields, according to the program’s director.
The program’s online career training programs and course bundles, available through Monty Tech’s Ed2go partnership, make it possible for students to gain industry certifications and licensure in numerous career fields from the convenience of home and at their own pace. Veterans receive a 15% discount; alumni and senior citizens 10%.
Brush burning permits
now available
Brush burning permits are now available. Register online at www.massfire.net/brush/harvard.php to register and pay the $10 fee. If you created an account last year, you may use the same information this year.
Each day you wish to burn during the open burning season, Jan. 15 through May 1, you must call 351-333-5090 during the hours of 8 a.m. to noon to learn if open burning is allowed that day. If it is, you can follow the prompts on the phone to activate your permit. Fires must be completely extinguished by 4 p.m.
For persons with limited computer access, permits can be purchased at the police station, Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Call Trish at 978-456-8276 with any questions.
New hours at the
Transfer Station
Hours of operation at the Transfer Station have been extended. They are now 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
