As snowflakes filled the air for the first time this week, several Bromfield teams had made their way into postseason matchups. The girls cross-country team and a member of the boys team were headed to the state championship this weekend, a fitting end to a successful season. The girls and boys soccer teams had beaten their central division semifinal rivals in back-to-back Veterans Day matches this week. Both teams were set to compete for a district title in matches scheduled for this Thursday, Nov. 14, in Marlborough and a chance to move on a state championships to match


Girls cross-country (4-0, 5-0)

  • 11/9 MIAA Central Division 2 Championship. Team placed second, qualifying for the state championship meet. Tessa McClain was among the top ten runners, placing ninth among 184 runners.

  • 11/16 MIAA Division 2 All-state Championship (at Gardner Municipal Golf Course, Gardner), TBD


Boys cross-country (2-2, 3-2)

  • 11/9 MIAA Central Division 2 Championship. Will Squire finished 15th and qualified to compete in the state championship meet.

Boys soccer (7-0-1, 15-1-4)

  • 11/7 MIAA Central Division 4 quarterfinal vs.Clinton High School, 1-0 win
  • 11/11 MIAA Central Division 4 semifinal vs. Hopedale High School, 2-1 win
