Jackson Road bridge work now complete
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) successfully completed work on the Jackson Road Bridge over the Nashua River in Devens with minimal disruptions despite the night closures.
Federal census workers now in Harvard
2020 census workers will be visiting addresses in Harvard now through Oct. 18. Workers are identified by an official badge and photo ID.
The census counts every person living in the United States and U.S. territories. This count is conducted every 10 years by the nonpartisan U.S. Census Bureau and is mandated by the Constitution. The results determine congressional representation as well as federal funding for states and communities. The United States has counted its population every 10 years since 1790.
Registration open for Run-for-the-Hills
5K run and 2K walk
Help the Harvard Conservation Trust preserve rural Harvard by participating in the 10th annual Run-for-the-Hills 5K trail run or 2K walk Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. The venue is the Community Harvest Project’s orchards on Prospect Hill and the woodland trails of the Prospect Hill/Deans Hill conservation land. All proceeds from registration fees will benefit the Harvard Conservation Trust. Conservation Trust members and anyone registering by Sept. 8 get $5 off the fee. Deer Management Subcommittee presents findings
The Deer Management Subcommittee will present a final report of its findings to the Conservation Commission Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall meeting room.
