I commend the Select Board, Energy Advisory Committee, and residents of the town for making this bold move to provide wind-generated electricity to the more than 2,000 National Grid customers in Harvard. As the site of the state’s first community solar project, completed in 2014, Harvard continues to be a pioneer in municipal renewable energy. As I work with my colleagues on Beacon Hill to craft renewable energy policy at the state level, it’s encouraging to see the towns of the 37th Middlesex District taking steps like this that both save ratepayers money and reduce carbon emissions.
