Story of WWII Naval Destroyer at Fort Devens Museum

On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 1 p.m., the Fort Devens Museum, 94 Jackson Road in Devens, will host Warren “Buzz” Smith of Pembroke who will relate the history of the Cassin Young, a US Navy destroyer that served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War. Smith served as a hospital corpsman with the US Marines on shipboard and in field hospitals with the Air Force Medical Corps, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel before retiring. The talk is free and open to the public. The Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day and the third Saturday of every month.
