We are excited to be welcoming students back to school this week. Besides shiny floors, bright, clean classrooms, and landscaped entrances at both schools, the students at Bromfield will notice other improvements, especially when they enter the Cronin Auditorium and the serving line in the kitchen. The Cronin upgrades include freshly painted hand railings and new carpet. These improvements fulfill part two of a three-year plan that included lighting upgrades last year and will include over the next year a new stage curtain, new stage floor, and sound booth improvements. We will also improve the audience comfort with the addition of air conditioning.
As students crowd into the serving lines for quality, freshly prepared lunches, they will notice the new kitchen floor at Bromfield. The flooring, along with newly installed refrigeration and freezer systems, help support arguably the best lunch program in the state led by Chef Paul Correnty and his team.
These improvements have been funded through the town’s capital improvement process. We are appreciative to the community for the resources provided through the town vote to support the district in maintaining and improving the facilities. We appreciate the work of the district’s facilities manager, Jon Snyer, the district’s maintenance manager, David Woodsum, and their team for their oversight on these projects. One of our long-term goals is to maintain and improve the Bromfield School while ensuring that the newly built elementary school enters the same plan for diligent and consistent care.
