On Saturday July 13, the Shirley Historical Society invites the public to learn about the taverns, bars, and night clubs that did business in Shirley over the centuries and to take a bus tour visiting their locations. The tour starts at 4 p.m. at the Bull Run Restaurant with an explanation of Shirley’s drinking history and the effects of Prohibition. Tickets cost $25 and must be paid for in advance. Call 978-425-9328, email mail@shirleyhistory.org, or stop by the Historical Society any Monday or Saturday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
