The Bromfield School held its second annual Reality Fair May 30. Forty volunteers from the Harvard community and local businesses contributed to make this year’s fair again a successful event. The Rotary Club of Ayer, Shirley, Devens, and Harvard provided the basic concept of the fair, the spinning Wheel of (Mis-)Fortune, and the contacts for our local business participants: Gervais Ford, Nikopoulos Insurance, Fidelity Bank, MainStreet Bank, and Rollstone Bank. Chris Ryan of the Harvard Lions Club lent folding tables for the event and hauled them back and forth from the school.
The local Dunkin’ Donuts of the Catalano Companies provided coffee and snacks for all. Alice Bartram checked-in all participants to make sure the school remained safe and secure. Dan Daly did more than the usual volunteer, pitching in to move tables, setting up the gym early for the event, and answering students’ questions. Chef Paul cooked up his usual fine choices at the school cafeteria.
Others gave most of their day to create fun and challenging sessions to help 10th-graders begin to understand what their lives might be like once they have left home, completed college, and embarked on their careers.
So this is a warm and wonderful thank-you to all for taking part in a worthy and valuable event.
