Police made 20 motor vehicle stops during the past week, with 17 resulting in verbal warnings and three in written warnings or citations. They also responded to six medical emergencies, in five of which ambulance crews took someone to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support on board. One person needed an officer’s help with a disabled vehicle.
Tuesday, April 2
At 3 p.m. a resident came to the police station to report a case of identity theft and credit card fraud that may be related to the earlier spate of such crimes in town; police are working to determine if this most recent case is connected. A Willard Lane resident phoned at 4:03 p.m. because an alarm was sounding, but he canceled the call after realizing it was the alarm in his own car. At 8:48 p.m. someone from the Fire Department phoned the police to say a car was parked in a marked No Parking area at Town Hall; an officer spoke to the car’s owner.
Wednesday, April 3
A 911 call to Bolton police about suspicious activity at 4:52 a.m. led to finding a person in need of medical attention, and the Harvard ambulance crew responded to take the patient to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. At 11:52 p.m. a gust of wind brought down a tree across Old Littleton Road near Pinnacle Road, and police reported the blockage to the Department of Public Works.
Thursday, April 4
High winds continued into Thursday morning, bringing down large tree branches on Bolton Road and East Bare Hill Road around 1 a.m. At 10:19 a.m. police received a report of a brush fire on Woodchuck Hill Road. And at 5:02 p.m. wind felled another tree limb on Old Littleton Road, this time near town center, and police notified the DPW.
Friday, April 5
Shortly after dusk, at 7:39 p.m., a driver struck a deer on Poor Farm Road.
Saturday, April 6
During a nightly building check at the Bromfield School at 1:20 a.m., an officer found several young people playing basketball and told them to move along. At 8:21 a.m. a private investigator came to the police station to say he was working in town. At 9:25 a.m. an officer stopped a car after a routine license plate check showed its registration had been revoked. Jose Inocencio, 59, of Framingham, received a summons for driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle. A Westcott Road resident called at 9:41 p.m. to say that some poorly parked cars along the road were hindering drivers’ ability to see approaching vehicles. At 10:06 p.m. an officer checked on cars parked at the Prospect Hill overlook. The officer told the drivers of two cars to move along because the area had closed at dusk; an unoccupied third car got a parking ticket. At 10:47 p.m. a housesitter on Barton Road called about suspicious noises in the residence; police checked the home and found everything was secure.
Sunday, April 7
Police alerted the DPW about an alarm sounding at its building at 9:33 a.m. At 3:59 p.m. Harvard police assisted officers in a nearby town with securing the scene of a suicide by gun until state police arrived. At 5:25 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident reported his car had been damaged while he was away, but police concluded the damage had occurred earlier, caused by a rock in the driveway. Someone on Prospect Hill Road called at 5:46 p.m. about an aggressive dog in the area; police notified the animal control officer.
