Town Caucus results in one contested race

March 21, 2019

The 2019 Town Caucus has come and gone without a hitch, resulting in just one contested race: Lynda Herbolsheimer and Jennifer Combs will run for a two-year term as a trustee of the Warner Free Lectures.

Several children and 44 voting residents attended the caucus, which was held March 18 at 7 p.m. and lasted just 7 minutes. The caucus’s quick finish, under the guidance of Chair Steve Nigzus and secretary Mary Jarvis, was a welcome contrast to last year’s, which was delayed while waiting for enough attendees to reach the necessary 26-voter quorum.

Susie Allen was nominated for the three-year seat on the School Committee, Sharlene Cronin was nominated for the two-year school board seat left vacant by Mary Traphagen, and incumbents were nominated unopposed for remaining vacancies. The incumbents are Bill Barton (moderator, one year), Stu Sklar and Alice von Loesecke (Select Board, three years), Marty Green and Stacie Green (library trustees, three years), and Pat Jennings and Sheila Simollardes (Warner Free Lecture Trustees, three years).
