The League of Women Voters of Harvard will hold its inaugural Civics Cup competition Sunday, March 3, in upper Town Hall from 1 to 3 p.m. Bromfield students in grades 8-12 will compete in small teams answering questions about civics and government. Harvard Town Moderator Bill Barton will preside. Each competitor will receive a T-shirt to wear during the event and a pocket US Constitution furnished by the League. First place winners will get a personal tour of the Massachusetts State House with Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Middlesex and Worcester). During breaks between rounds representatives of local and state government will speak briefly. Local sponsors Sorrento’s Pizza and Harvard Sweet Boutique will provide food and other prizes.
