Police made three motor vehicle stops during the past week, two of which resulted in verbal warnings, and they assisted one motorist with a disabled vehicle. Officers also responded to four medical emergencies, from which three people were taken to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support on board. Police also issued or renewed one firearms license.

Wednesday, Jan. 16
Someone called at 7:43 a.m. with suspicions about a person on Slough Road. Police determined that the person in question was a gas delivery driver delivering a bill to a home. At 2:20 p.m. a resident of Ann Lees Road called to report suspected drug activity at the ball field there. A woman called at 4:54 p.m. to tell police she believed someone was stealing money from her father, a Harvard resident, by computer fraud. Police are looking into the issue. A 911 caller at 8:12 p.m. said someone was driving at very high speeds on Old Littleton Road.
Thursday, Jan. 17
At 2:17 p.m. state police called to say that a driver who was weaving from lane to lane on Route 2 had exited onto Route 110. Harvard police searched roads in the vicinity but did not see the vehicle. At 2:28 p.m. an officer spotted three cars at the ball field on Ann Lees Road. All three drove off quickly as the police car approached; the officer logged their license plates. Someone called 911 at 4:08 p.m. about a road rage incident on Ayer Road. The cars involved headed into Ayer, and Harvard police notified their Ayer counterparts.
Friday, Jan. 18
Police received a call at 6:17 a.m. about an accident on Route 2 westbound; the Harvard fire and ambulance teams reported to the scene to assist state police, who have jurisdiction on the highway. At 11:10 p.m. someone called to speak to an officer about the possibility that a bus driver to an evening sports event might have been impaired. Police are looking into it, but pointed out that it was only one person’s impression.
Saturday, Jan. 19
Police informed the Department of Public Works at 4:49 p.m. that snow was falling and roads were becoming hazardous. At 11:39 p.m. someone driving at high speed down South Shaker Road failed to stop at the Ayer Road intersection and slammed into the side of a car on Ayer Road. One person was injured and taken to a hospital. The driver at fault was cited for running the stop sign and driving too fast for road conditions.
Sunday, Jan. 20
With freezing rain and icy snow falling all day, it seems newsworthy that no vehicle accidents were reported.
