As someone who spends quite a bit of time feeding and staring at his woodstove during this fallow period of his work year, I found Hakan Sahin’s cartoon last week funny and poignant. Burning wood can become a somewhat obsessive pursuit, and our friend here has obviously taken matters to the nth degree as he sits mesmerized, as we all are, by the primal allure of licking flames. We are fortunate indeed to be on the receiving end of Sahin’s wit every week, poking fun at us from unexpected angles.
