The Harvard Press article in the Nov. 9, 2018, issue titled “CPIC reviews capital requests by DPW, Fire Department, and Ambulance Service” requires correction.
The response to the suggestion regarding replacing the radios in stages over multiple years should be corrected to reflect: The reason for the radio replacement request is to align the Harvard Ambulance Service (currently using VHF) with the Harvard Fire Department (using UHF) and consistent with the rest of the Nashoba Valley Regional Dispatch District to facilitate communication and interoperability. This requires a one-time conversion of all radios to support UHF communication; it cannot be done piecemeal, as all communications will be migrated to UHF, and the current VHF radios will not be usable when the transition to UHF occurs.
