Thanking Under the Lights and alumni game supporters

November 1, 2018

The Friends of Harvard Soccer would like to thank all those who contributed and attended the week-long Under the Lights sports events in town. Thanks to the tireless effort from Dave Boisvert, Bromfield athletic director, and Principal Scott Hoffman, the soccer and field hockey teams had a chance to play their sport under the lights. We would like to thank Dunkin’ Donuts and Carlson Orchards for their generous donations, which provided a nice hometown feel to the games.

Although the weather caused some changes in the schedule due to field conditions, the boys and girls varsity soccer teams were still happy to host a night game on Saturday at the FC Stars facility in Lancaster. We are so grateful that Jason Dewhurst and Matt Davison could accommodate us at the last minute. This is the second year that lights were rented. The spirit of the town continues to grow as we support our local athletes competing against some of our rival schools. In addition, there was another great turnout for the second annual alumni game on Saturday, with 24 players representing Bromfield classes of 1998-2018. It was a hard-fought match between the even and odd graduating years, and it was wonderful to see them at the night game supporting the current players. Playing under the lights and the alumni game are great traditions, and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2019. Best of luck to all of the teams in their post-season tournaments
