Hildreth House/COA closures
Hildreth House/COA will be closed Friday, Nov. 2 and Monday, Nov. 5. It will be open and the van will be available for rides to the polls on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 6. Van reservations are required.
Let’s go to the movies
On Monday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, see a feature-length movie. The film is “Mama Mia, Here We Go Again,” an original movie based on the music of ABBA. It stars Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan and is rated PG-13.
Turkey Dinner at St. Theresa’s
Come celebrate Thanksgiving with COA friends Thursday, Nov. 8, at noon at St. Theresa’s Church. The meal will include turkey from Bob’s Turkey Farm along with the traditional fixings. Reservations are required.
Fuel assistance
The heating season is here, and applications for fuel assistance can be made. The state gross annual income limits for fuel assistance are:
- $35,510 for a household of one.
- $46,437 for a household of two.
In addition, Harvard offers a Harvard Energy Assistance Team (HEAT) program. If you are concerned about paying your heating bill, let COA know.
Computer support and workshops
Schedule an appointment for help with computer issues Tuesday or Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hildreth House. Or sign up for a workshop:

- Nov. 30, 1 p.m. – Backing up your computer.
Book Club: ‘Little Women’ (what else?)
On Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. come to Hildreth House to discuss Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women.” This adored classic of four devoted sisters, read by generations, was loosely based on Alcott’s own life.
Multi-Media art show and sale
The 4th annual Harvard Artisans Multi-Media Gallery Show and Sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 7 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18, noon to 4 p.m. at the Congregational Church. Proceeds from the event will benefit the COA. The one-of-a-kind works of art will include glassware, fiber/textile designs, jewelry, pastel paintings, photography, pottery, quilting, weaving, woodworking, and more. The event will also include door prizes, music, hors d’oeuvres, homemade soups, a dessert buffet, and a silent auction.
