Candidate Maiore is a person we trust

October 25, 2018

Voting for Select Board is an important event since these five members have a direct impact on our daily lives and local community. In a small town, each vote counts and so we are voting for Rich Maiore. Rich is a person we trust. When it comes to the fate of our children, conservation of our land, management of our town services and celebrations, and our general well-being, we want to have him making decisions for us.

Rich grew up in Harvard; has lived here the majority of his life; and has served locally in numerous ways—as a member of the Planning Board, the Economic Development Committee, and the Master Plan Committee—all major commitments affecting our town profoundly. On a more personal level, he has children in the school system and has been a coach. He comes from a family that has served this town in every way possible; he grew up with the ethos that you give back to the town in which you live.

He’s also a very sincere individual who is both creative because of his background in advertising and thoughtful because of the people he associates with, including his wife, parents, children, and his closest friends. We have had many conversations with Rich about our town over the years; we are always struck by his intelligent and thorough examination of any issue or town dilemma. He has changed our opinions many times because he took the time to study the issue in a deeper manner.

Finally, Rich has a great sense of humor; we mention this because being a member of the Select Board requires temperament and patience and not taking criticism personally. He has all of those qualities and more.

Rich is a friend of ours, yet that is not the main reason we are voting for him. He has our vote because we see the sincerity of his commitment to our town and his goodwill, humor, and creative mind, which will allow him to seek and find common ground.
