Dianna Gently Drawn

(observation of a garden statue)

Dianna cast in brass with her raised bow
and arrow aimed never to escape
forever paused  before flight
is a preferred perch for the garden sparrow
and this morning in the dawning light
she is gently drawn in a gossamer cape
of silver cobwebs embroidered with diamonds of dew.
