Bromfield Acton-Boxborough rowers take gold at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta

August 16, 2018

Nine girls and several boys from Bromfield Acton-Boxborough traveled to St. Catharines, Ontario, to compete in the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta—one of the largest regattas in North America, boasting 2,166 rowers—Aug. 5-12, 2018. The event, which has been held since 1880, awards medals only for first-place finishers. The girls U17 4+ advanced through heats and semifinals defeating 28 other teams to capture that elusive gold medal on the 2,000-meter course. It was a first for the Bare Hill Rowing Association and for Holly Hatton as a competitor or coach.
