I’ve read with interest your article “Sports group seeks artificial turf makeover for Pond Road fields.” How about this headline: “Sports group seeks $3.25 million from citizens for plastic grass.”
Initially I thought it was one of your clever April Fools’ Day pieces. Over $3 million for plastic grass? This idea is DOA [dead on arrival] and will never fly.
One gentleman supporting the not-yet-a-project said the fields “would really create a prep school atmosphere” for Bromfield. Tut, tut, sir.
Grass by Mother Nature is the way to go.
