(Re)name the Cultural Collaborative!
The Harvard Cultural Collaborative (HCC) has launched a re-branding campaign and seeks a new name that is creative, joyful, exciting, and emblematic of its mission to serve Harvard and surrounding communities. The name should appeal to all generations and also entice passers-by to take notice. Visit harvardculture.org and submit as many ideas as you wish.
Submissions will be reviewed and the chosen name will be announced Thursday, July 7. A new logo will also be created, a new sign will be unveiled at a grand re-opening ceremony in early 2019, and the person who submits the winning idea will be honored.
Learn about Girl Scouting
Girl Scout troops will be forming soon for next year—October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019—for girls entering kindergarten through grade 12. Volunteer troop leaders and helpers are needed. To learn more, come to a Girl Scout information event Thursday, June 14, at 6 p.m. at the library. Annual membership is $35; financial assistance is available. On display at the library
The public is invited to see the books and items related to Ramadan on display in the cases in the Children’s Room at the library. This exhibit is made possible by Arm in Arm.

Town bylaw committee seeks volunteers
The special committee required by the Town Charter (Section 8-5(c)) to review bylaws seeks seven registered voters. MBTA offers special weekend commuter passes for summer
The MBTA has announced a special $10 summer weekend fare on commuter rail trains, valid for unlimited travel through all zones on Saturdays and Sundays June 9 through September 2. These special passes will apply to customers age 12 and older; paying adults may bring two children under age 12 for free.
Forum on climate resilience in Harvard
The Harvard Energy Advisory Committee and the League of Women Voters of Harvard will co-host a public forum titled “Climate Resilience in Harvard” Thursday, May 31, at 7 p.m. in Town Hall. Representatives from boards and organizations who supported Harvard’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program application will speak. We’ll also learn about the Devens planning process from MVP core team member Neil Angus along with Harvard’s newest resilience expert Phoebe Von Conta. Come learn how you can participate and contribute to a more resilient Harvard.
