During the week, police made three traffic stops resulting in three verbal warnings. They also assisted two drivers with disabled vehicles and one driver with a lockout. High winds on the evening of April 4 and early morning hours of April 5 resulted in 14 calls for downed trees or wires, and National Grid had to replace three utility poles that came down during the windstorm. The ambulance crew was summoned 12 times and took eight people to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support on board.
Tuesday, April 3
At 11:42 a.m. a caller reported suspicious packages delivered to her house. The resident was advised to notify the post office.
Wednesday, April 4
Someone brought a passport card found at Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge in Still River to the station at 9:45 a.m. Police notified the owner of the card, an Acton resident, that the card was at the station.
Thursday, April 5
A caller reported a male running down Ayer Road toward Ayer at 3:21 a.m. Police found a vehicle with a flat tire on the side of Ayer Road with no driver but could not locate the running man. Police suspect that he was the driver of that vehicle, possibly going for help. At 8:55 a.m. a caller reported a dead dog on Route 2 westbound just before Exit 37. The animal control officer was notified. A call at 1:47 p.m. brought police to the scene of the new wall being built on Mass. Ave. along the fields in front of the library, where workers were entering the road with machinery. Police told them not to drive the machinery into the road. The Fire Department reported a car blocking the driveway to the station at 4:20 p.m. Police had the car towed. Police also discovered a car illegally parked in a handicapped spot at the Congregational Church. The car would have been towed, but the owner returned to the vehicle in time to avoid that.
Friday, April 6
At 10:06 a.m. a caller reported a possibly lost golden retriever on her property. The animal control officer was notified. A 911 call came in at 11:15 a.m. regarding a female Ayer Road resident who had fallen and hurt her back. She was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. Another 911 call was made at 2:49 p.m. to report a person who was having chest pains and difficulty breathing. The patient was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. A minor snowstorm was enough to cause the roads to become slippery, and police notified the Department of Public Works to treat the roads at 3:13 p.m.
Saturday, April 7
At 9:01 a.m. a caller reported leaves being burned too close to the road at a Littleton Road residence. Police told the resident to put out the fire. At 10:31 a.m. a woman drove her car into the Unitarian Fellowship Hall at 7 Elm St. The woman said she pressed the wrong pedal. She was not injured, but her car had to be towed. The building inspector was notified to determine the damage to the hall. Police did not cite the driver. A 911 caller reported finding a crack pipe at the town beach at 1:20 p.m. An officer took the pipe and disposed of it. At 6:04 p.m. state police reported a motor vehicle crash on Route 2 westbound just before Jackson Road, and said they believed that the driver of the car may have been unconscious. Harvard EMS was dispatched and took the victim to the UMass Memorial Hospital in Leominster.

Monday, April 9
At 9:05 a.m. police told members of a tree crew working on East Bare Hill Road to move their equipment off the road and into the driveway of the residence where they were working. A woman reported hitting what she thought was a dog on Ayer Road at 9:33 a.m. Police believe the animal was actually a coyote, which was seen running in a field nearby. There was no damage to the car or injuries to the driver. At 2:36 p.m. a resident returning from walking his dog reported seeing a vehicle that he did not recognize pulling out of his driveway. He provided a license plate number, but police said the number was not correct. No further action was taken. At 3:50 p.m. a 911 caller reported an Oak Hill Road man had cut his heel with an ax while chopping wood. He was taken to Emerson Hospital.
