Volunteers needed for Harvard-Devens Jurisdiction Committee
The Board of Selectmen is seeking volunteers for the Harvard-Devens Jurisdiction Committee. This committee was established after passage of ballot question #4 at the 2017 Town Election. It is charged with instituting a process for developing a plan to resume jurisdiction of the land presently part of Devens formerly under the jurisdiction of the Town of Harvard. The committee will comprise two members of the BOS, one member of the Planning Board, and four members-at-large, at least one of whom lives in Devens. Join the 36th Annual Great Food Walk
The 36th Annual Nashoba Great Food Walk to defeat hunger will be held on Good Friday, March 30. Ninety percent of all funds raised by the walk benefit Loaves & Fishes, the largest food pantry in North Central Massachusetts; 10 percent goes to Sharing, Inc., which helps impoverished youth in the rural South. All residents are encouraged to participate—as a walker, a volunteer, or a sponsor.
The walk leaves the Congregational Church and follows a 5-mile loop. Walkers may register between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Sponsor sheets are available at local churches, the library, www.loavesfishespantry.org or www.gfwalk.org. Temporary closures at Registry of Motor Vehicles
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) has announced that a change to a new computer system will cause the following interruptions in services:
- Beginning 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22, motor vehicle inspections will be unavailable at station locations until 8 a.m. on March 26.
- From 7 p.m. March 22, until 8 a.m., March 26, Registry on-line services will be unavailable.
- Registry service locations will be closed on Friday, March 23, and will reopen Monday, March 26.
- AAA branch locations that offer Registry services to AAA members will be unable to do so from 7 p.m., March 22, to 8 a.m., March 26.

Celebration 2018 seeks volunteers, donations
Celebration is the post-prom, substance-free party for Bromfield juniors and seniors and their guests with the aim of keeping them safe on what can be a dangerous night. In previous years, more than 95 percent of juniors and seniors attended. It’s a joyful evening that includes food, prizes, and games. The theme is a well-kept secret that’s not revealed to the students or to the public until the night of the event. This year’s prom and Celebration are scheduled for Friday, May 18.

Snowmobile trails on conservation land are closed
The Harvard Conservation Commission has made the decision to close the snowmobile trails on conservation land. Due to high water and daytime temperatures in the 40s, the snow is not protective under those conditions, and wetlands are especially vulnerable to damage. The commission appreciates the cooperation of those who use the trails.

Be prepared to vote at the May Town Election on whether or not to adopt the proposed town charter. On Wednesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, Harvard’s Charter Commission will provide an overview of the proposed charter and answer questions.
