Boy Scouts Jason Lancellotti and Jonathan McWhite were honored March 10 in a Court of Honor for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor a Boy Scout can achieve. Both Lancellotti and McWhite are Bromfield seniors. State Rep. Jen Benson attended the ceremony and discussed her views on citizenship and the role of Eagle Scouts in their communities.
For his Eagle Scout project, Lancellotti coordinated a team of 13 scouts to repair the Native American longhouse at Fruitlands. The scouts cut down saplings and secured them to the longhouse frame to extend the useful life of this exhibit. His parents are Nancy and Tony Lancellotti of West Bare Hill Road.
McWhite directed a group of 10 scouts in installing solar lighting and beautifying the bases of two flagpoles—one at the Harvard Center Cemetery and the other at Bellevue Cemetery on Still River Road. His parents are Wyona Lynch-McWhite and Christopher McWhite of Trail Ridge Way.
