Deana Boucher of Old Littleton Road, a four-time Boston Marathon runner, will lace up her sneakers again this year. Boucher ran her first Boston Marathon in 2013 and was less than a half-mile from the finish line, about to break her own personal record, when the bombs went off. She ran the Marathon again in 2015 and beat her record.
This year, Boucher decided to run the Boston Marathon as a charity runner with Team Joslin to support the diabetes research and treatment programs at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. Diabetes awareness is a cause close to her heart, as she is a longtime registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator and currently works as a certified product trainer for Medtronic Diabetes.
Boucher has already raised nearly $4,000 for Joslin and has a goal of raising $10,000 by April. To learn more about her and to donate to her run, visit http://bit.ly/2Gu9aQb.
