The Bromfield Trojans varsity girls basketball team fell to the Littleton Tigers 55–16 Friday, Jan. 12, at home. The loss left the team with a record of 0–3 in the Mid-Wach League’s Division E and 0–10 overall.

Sophomores Romy Hermans and Callie Frackiewicz, junior Beatrice Wig, and eighth-grader Natalia Dutkewych started the game for the Trojans.
Littleton scored within the first couple of seconds and continued to dominate the game from there. The Tigers repeatedly stole the ball from dribbling Trojans throughout the evening and intercepted overhead passes between opponent players. Furthermore, the Trojans would lose possession of the ball when attempting difficult, fast passes. However, Bromfield persevered, and freshman Isabelle Katter got the first Trojan basket with 4 minutes 39 seconds left in the first quarter. Hermans followed with Bromfield’s second basket, and Frackiewicz tied the game at 6–6 with 1:10 left in the quarter. In the second quarter, the Tigers fought back and overpowered the Trojans. Although Dutkewych scored another two points for Bromfield, Littleton retaliated with attempts at 3-pointers. As the night progressed, held balls—in which two opponents both had a strong grip on the ball—became common. The second quarter finished 23–8.

In the third quarter, Bromfield scored an additional four points, but Littleton more than tripled that count, posting 15 points. The score at the end of the third quarter was 38–12. In the fourth quarter, Bromfield added another four points, while Littleton scored 17.
Of Littleton’s 55 points, three came from free throws. All of Bromfield’s points came from field goals.
Littleton’s high scorer was Carrington McLeod with 11. Junior co-captain Nicole Lemieux, Katter, and Dutkewych were Bromfield’s high scorers with four points each.
Bromfield’s next game was scheduled to be at Tyngsborough, Tuesday, Jan 16.
