Local financial advisers Renee Senes of East Bare Hill Road and David Chwalek have recently published a new book, “Money & Divorce: Costly Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make.” The book offers practical financial advice for people going through—or even considering—a divorce.
For several years, the partners of Senes & Chwalek Financial Advisors in Concord and Harvard have taught classes and workshops of the same name. After prodding from clients and attendees at their classes, they decided to write down the concepts they’ve been teaching and put them all together in book form.
“We tend to see the same mistakes over and over again,” says Senes, a certified divorce financial analyst. “Going through a divorce can be an emotionally charged time, and people aren’t always thinking clearly about the long-term financial ramifications of their settlement.”
Chwalek adds, “In almost every divorce situation, one of the spouses is less financially savvy or experienced. We hope we can help them avoid the mistakes that others have made.”
