On Dec. 3, collaborating with the Conservation Commission, the Harvard Snowmobile Club made an effort to restore and preserve the Holy Hill section of the town’s recreational trails.
A dozen club members met to work on the multiuse trail. They maneuvered 15 yards of material through the narrow pathways and compacted it to regrade parts of the trail, which is now pitched to shed water, hopefully minimizing future erosion.
This was one of many work sessions in which club members participated. Each week they have focused on a different section of the trail system, which consists of both privately owned and conservation lands. The trails on the north and east sides of town have been cleared to date. The club would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank those generous landowners and remind everyone to respect the signs and stay on marked trails..
