Police made four traffic stops during the week and issued verbal warnings to all four drivers. They also responded to one request for an outdoor cooking fire and another for an agricultural burn permit. The ambulance crew responded to eight medical emergencies and took six people to the hospital, four with Advanced Life Support on board. Two people refused treatment or transport to the hospital.
Tuesday, Oct. 31
Someone stopped at the station at 10:12 a.m. to report that a ladder had been stolen from a construction site on Depot Road. An Orchard Hill Road resident called to report that a dog had wandered into the backyard. The animal control officer was notified. A motorist called at 8:02 p.m. to report that an injured deer was on the side of Littleton Road. By the time the officer arrived, the animal had died. A Glenview Drive resident called to report a large tree down in the roadway. An officer went to the location and was able to move the tree aside, pending later removal by the Department of Public Works.
Wednesday, Nov. 1
A Mill Road resident called at 8:17 a.m. with concerns about a red Toyota that had been parked nearby for about 15 minutes. An officer responded and spoke with the driver, who went on his way. At 10:28 a.m. someone called 911 to report an accident on Ayer Road. Police say a car drifted across the centerline and sideswiped a passing 18-wheeler. There were no injuries. The driver of the car, who told police she had looked down at the instrument panel for just a moment, was cited for failure to stay within marked lanes. A resident called at 4:43 p.m. to report that an SUV with several teens in it had sped by and nearly struck her while she was walking on Prospect Hill Road, and she told police this was not the first time it had happened. However, she was unable to provide a description of the SUV or a plate number, so police had no information with which to search for the vehicle.

Friday, Nov. 3
At 12:51 p.m. a patrol officer stopped on Woodchuck Hill Road to tell some tree workers that their equipment posed a hazard where it was parked and would have to be moved. An Ayer Road resident called at 1:14 p.m. to report that a black Lab had just wandered into her house. The animal control officer was notified.

Sunday, Nov. 5
A 911 caller reported at 2:45 p.m. that a bicycle traveling on Ann Lees Road had struck a dog and that the bicyclist had been thrown from the bike. Police and ambulance personnel responded, and the bicyclist was taken to the hospital.
Monday, Nov. 6
A Bolton Road resident called at 8:02 a.m. to report the theft of an iPad.
