Former longtime resident, engineer

Darwin A. Kittredge, 79, died Oct. 22, 2017, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
He was born in Clinton and lived in Harvard most of his life. He lived in other New England locations before becoming a full-time resident of Sebastian, Florida. He was a brother of the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 4), Boston.
Survivors include his son, William J. Kittredge Sr. of Fitchburg; his stepchildren, Jean E. Oakes of Edgewater, Florida, June E. Taylor of Lewiston, Maine, Joan E. Baker of Autryville, North Carolina, Joyce E. Dillard of Vero Beach, Florida, and Joseph C. Taylor of Lombok Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia; his sister, Karen Kittredge Shaw; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ursula E. LeFebre Kittredge; his twin brother, Donald Kittredge; and his parents, Peter Darwin Augustus and Wilhelmina Kittredge.
At the request of the family, services will be private, and a celebration of life will be scheduled later in Massachusetts
