Police made two traffic stops during the week and gave both drivers verbal warnings. They also helped three motorists with disabled vehicles, helped two others get back into inadvertently locked cars, and responded to two requests for outdoor fires. The ambulance crew responded to six medical emergencies and took five people to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support on board. One person refused treatment or transport to the hospital.

At 7:59 a.m. a caller reported that a tractor-trailer was blocking part of the roadway on Stow Road. An officer went to the location and found that the vehicle was there to load equipment, so stood by to direct traffic until the work was complete. Someone called at 8:54 a.m. to alert police that a door had been left open at a vacant house on Littleton Road for two days in a row. An officer checked on the building, and finding nothing amiss, secured the door. A motorist called at 11:26 a.m. to report that equipment belonging to a tree company was blocking the roadway on East Bare Hill Road. An officer went to the location and asked the workers to move the equipment.
Friday, Oct. 6
An Old Littleton Road resident called to report a coyote in the yard. The animal control officer was contacted.
Saturday, Oct. 7
Someone called at 11:36 a.m. to express concerns about the well-being of two dogs that were in a car parked on Warren Avenue for about two hours. An officer checked on the dogs and determined they were not in any danger. Police report that the car was parked in the shade, the windows were open for ventilation, and the dogs did not appear to be in distress. The animal control officer, who was also called, concurred with that assessment. At 9:52 p.m. a caller reported suspicions about a car parked at McCurdy Track. An officer went to the area, found the unoccupied car, but found no one in the area.
Sunday, Oct. 8
At 12:45 a.m. a patrol officer checked on an occupied car parked near St. Theresa’s Church. Police say the driver was there to drop off a passenger. At 1:17 a.m. a patrol officer stopped at the Depot Road soccer field to check on an unoccupied car parked there but found no one in the area. Someone called at 10:32 a.m. to report a tree branch in the roadway on Massachusetts Avenue, near the Boxborough town line. An officer went to the location but found that Boxborough police had already removed the branch. Another caller reported a branch in the roadway on Littleton Road at 3:52 p.m. By the time the officer arrived, someone had already moved the branch aside.
Monday, Oct. 9
At 10:23 p.m. a 911 caller reported tree branches and debris in the roadway on Under Pin Hill Road. An officer went to the location and moved the debris off the road.
