NRWA online auction seeks donations
The Nashua River Watershed Association’s (NRWA) online auction begins Nov. 16 and ends Dec. 1. The auction provides a way for participants to do their holiday shopping while supporting NRWA’s efforts to protect natural resources and provide environmental education programs in 32 watershed communities. Organizers would like donations of tickets to sporting events, jewelry, electronics, professional services, and gift certificates. Donation deadline is November 1. Trick or treat for UNICEF
Children in kindergarten through grade 8 may pick up a UNICEF box and fill it with change between now and Halloween. Boxes are available in the HES and Bromfield offices, at the General Store, and at the library. Kids can collect change by asking family, friends, and neighbors to contribute. Drug take-back day
The next National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 28. Residents are urged to dispose of expired prescription drugs, or those that are no longer needed, by depositing them in the blue metal kiosk in the police station foyer.
Harvard Scouts ‘Rise Against Hunger’
Harvard’s Senior/Ambassador Girl Scout Troop 30892 will host a meal-packaging event with Rise Against Hunger, a global program that provides meals to school lunch programs/hospitals and to victims of disasters. Residents are asked to donate funds to help purchase the meals. Foliage trip for seniors

Rent a rower for fall leaf raking
The Bromfield Acton-Boxborough rowing team will offer its annual Rent-a-Rower leaf-raking service Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4–5, Friday, Nov. 10 (afternoon only), and Saturday and Sunday Nov. 12–13. Crews of three athletes plus one adult will come equipped with a walk-behind leaf blower, a backpack blower, rakes, and tarps. Price is based on yard size and leaf coverage. All proceeds will go toward equipment for the rowing team. The first weekend will open for reservations Oct. 13. When those dates are sold out, the second weekend will be available. Trick-or-treating on the Common
The Police Department has announced that trick-or-treating on the Common will be Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. Halloween candy donations for homes on the Common should be in individually wrapped portions and dropped off at the collection box in the police station lobby. Students needed to help with Halloween parade
