In its second week of play, the Trojan girls soccer team destroyed the Hudson Hawks, trampled the Lunenburg Blue Knights, and finished off the Douglas Tigers, advancing to place second in the Mid-Wach League’s Division D behind Tyngsborough.
Bromfield faced the Hawks on Monday, Sept. 11, away from its home field, yet won the game 10–2. Sophomore Sam Schoenberg scored half of the Trojans’ goals and was also credited with an assist, making her the top scorer of the afternoon. Freshman Olivia Kehoe followed, notching two points for her team as well as an assist. The win brought Bromfield’s record to 1–1.
The Trojans moved on later in the week on Wednesday, Sept. 13, to crush the Blue Knights at their second away game and came away with a 6–0 victory. Freshmen Bella Kehoe and Olivia Kehoe tied for the top scorer of the game, finishing the afternoon with two goals and one assist each. The Blue Knights came to the match winless after three games.
The Douglas Tigers fell to the Trojans 7–5 the following Monday, Sept. 18. The two Kehoe sisters, along with Schoenberg, each recorded two goals and an assist for Bromfield. Senior Sarah Moore followed with one goal and an assist.
The Trojans were set to face Maynard on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at home.
