I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of civic spirit that culminated in the grand opening of Harvard’s own community cultural center in the old library building on Friday, Sept. 15. Dozens of volunteers contributed to the preparations: cleaning and painting the historic building, landscaping and gardening, donating furniture and rugs, arranging decor, providing musical accompaniment, preparing hors d’oeuvres, and serving food and drink to the guests. Special thanks to Teddy Coffin for her spectacular floral arrangements, and to Faith Cross for her work with our talented local artist community, both of whom helped adorn our town’s iconic building for the event. Harvard, we can do amazing things with this space!
Please stop by the Arts Sampler on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to get a taste of the creativity and cross-generational community building that we can nurture in the town center.
