Who can you believe? We are continually inundated with opinions backed by opinions. How does anyone subjected to the constant barrage of words expect one to arrive at any credible conclusions? Who can we depend on for anything approaching the truth when even our leaders appear to operate on what are alleged facts?
Have we reached the pinnacle of our democracy’s success? We increasingly and loudly speak of becoming a great nation again; one must conclude we are far from it. Could it be that our republic is no longer adequate in this present age of misinformation and lack of cooperation?
It was once said that a “house divided cannot stand.” We need goals that are adhered to and apply to all citizens equally. As a starter, members of Congress must avail themselves of the same conditions available to all the rest of us. This may be the only way that Congress will force itself to arrive at an acceptable health policy and help convince the general public that Congress can truly cooperate and act for the general good.
