Let’s go to the movies

See a feature-length movie musical starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling on Monday, June 12, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall. This PG-13 film is the story of an aspiring actress and a struggling jazz musician in modern day Los Angeles.



Life changes and transitions

Come to Hildreth House Monday, June 12, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (and the second Monday of each month) to share experiences of adapting to loss. The group is facilitated by a bereavement care coordinator from Nashoba Nursing Service and Hospice.



‘Bach’s Lunch’ at Indian Hill Music

Join other seniors for an afternoon of music at Indian Hill in Littleton Thursday, June 15. Songs from movie musicals will be featured. Cookies and beverages will be provided. The van will leave Harvard at 12:45 p.m. and return at 3 p.m.



Comedy hour with David Shikes

On Wednesday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at Hildreth House storyteller/comedian David Shikes will present a collection of humorous situations and subjects including New England jokes. Much of his information comes from years travelling around New England as an independent bookseller. After the show there will be a light luncheon. This event is free; however, space is limited. Sign up by June 15.



COA Open House!

COA will host an open house Sunday, June 25, from noon to 3 p.m. Hildreth House will be open, and staff will be on hand to show visitors around the newly renovated building and grounds. Come have a cold drink, take a tour, and ride the new lift.



Vintage movie

On Monday, June 26, at 1 p.m., this year’s vintage movie series starts with “It Happened One Night” with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. The series will continue on the fourth Monday of each month throughout the summer at Hildreth House, featuring favorite classic films from the 1930s and ’40s.



Visit to restaurant and cheese factory

Seniors will visit Westminster Wednesday, June 28, for an early lunch at The Old Mill Restaurant. Lunch will be followed with a free factory tour of Smith’s Country Cheese in Winchendon. Lunch is on your own; the van fee is $5. The van will leave at 10:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.
