During the week, police made two traffic stops, which resulted in one citation and one verbal warning. They also assisted one motorist with a disabled vehicle and responded to one request for a burn permit. The ambulance crew responded to five medical emergencies during the week and took five people to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support on board.

Wednesday, April 26
A Bolton Road resident called at 5:20 p.m. to report that an unfamiliar truck was parked on her lawn. An officer went to the residence and spoke with the truck driver, who said the vehicle was disabled and help was on the way.
Thursday, April 27
At 1 p.m. someone stopped at the station to report a possible craigslist scam. A Willow Road resident called at 5:48 p.m. to report suspicions about a silver car that had pulled into a neighbor’s driveway and then left. The caller, who provided a plate number for the vehicle, added that a package that had been hanging from the mailbox was no longer there. Police checked the plate number with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, but discovered that the number was incorrect.
Friday, April 28
Someone called at 8:09 a.m. to report having observed a vehicle strike a deer near the police station. Police checked the area but found no deer. At 10:25 a.m. an employee at Harvard Lanes called to report that someone had broken into the business sometime during the previous night. Police say a burglar entered through a window and broke into vending and arcade machines. Police are investigating. Someone stopped at the station at 3:17 p.m. to dispose of some pepper spray.
Saturday, April 29
At 3:36 p.m. a caller reported that a black Lab was running loose near the post office on Ayer Road. A message was left for the animal control officer. A Bolton Road resident called at 4:10 p.m. to report a chocolate Lab loose on Bolton Road. Another message was left for the animal control officer. Someone called at 4:42 p.m. to report that a tree had fallen across Oak Hill Road. The Department of Public Works was notified. A Finn Road resident called at 4:43 p.m. to report that a tree had fallen on some power lines. National Grid was notified. At 4:52 p.m. a caller reported a tree down on Littleton County Road. The DPW was asked to take care of it.
Sunday, April 30
Ayer police called at 2:19 a.m. requesting backup in responding to a noisy-neighbor complaint in Ayer. A motorist called at 4:43 p.m. to report that a white Ford being driven erratically on Route 2 had just exited the highway in Harvard, heading toward Ayer. Ayer police were notified to watch for it. A woman stopped at the station at 7:32 p.m. to report that she was being followed by two men. An officer located and spoke to the men and determined they were not following the woman. A patrol officer stopped at the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge parking lot at 8:43 p.m. to check on an occupied car parked there. The two women inside told the officer they were just talking. At 11:06 p.m. a patrol officer stopped at the Bromfield School to check on a car parked in the lower lot. The officer reported that the car was unoccupied and no one was in the area.
