This week police made no traffic stops, but they did assist three motorists with disabled vehicles and two others with getting into their inadvertently locked cars. The ambulance crew responded to four medical emergencies during the week and took three people to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support on board. One person refused treatment or transport to the hospital.

A Sherry Road resident called at 5:49 p.m. to report losing some eyeglasses and keys.
Wednesday, March 29
At 11:18 a.m. someone called to report a rock in the roadway on East Bare Hill Road. The Department of Public Works was called to remove it. A motorist called at 1:47 p.m. to report an incident that had taken place earlier, in which a car passed him in a no-passing zone on Still River Road. An Old Littleton Road resident called at 2:29 p.m. to claim a bicycle that had been in “lost and found” at the police station for a few months. A 911 caller reported a branch in the roadway on South Shaker Road. An officer moved the branch aside.
Thursday, March 30
Someone called at 1:32 p.m. to report that a passing tractor-trailer truck had accidentally pulled down an electrical wire on Lancaster County Road, snapping the utility pole in half. National Grid and Verizon were called to repair the damage. Police say the road was closed for several hours while repairs were made.
Friday, March 31
At 11:44 a.m. a caller reported suspicions about an occupied car parked in the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge parking lot. An officer checked on the car and spoke with the driver, who then moved along. A patrol officer called in at 2:54 p.m. to request that the Department of Public Works be dispatched to treat snowy roads around town.
Saturday, April 1
An April Fools’ Day snowstorm caused a spate of accidents throughout the morning. At 7:43 a.m. police were called to assist at an accident on Route 2 westbound near Exit 38, where a car had skidded off the road into a guardrail. The Littleton ambulance took the driver to the hospital; state police had the car towed. A motorist called at 8:21 a.m. seeking assistance in getting his car back on Ayer Road after it had skidded off. The car was winched out; the driver was not injured. A 911 caller reported at 2:53 p.m. that a large tree had fallen across Still River Road. The DPW was contacted to remove it. A passerby called at 7:53 p.m. to report that a fallen tree was blocking most of the roadway on Old Littleton Road. The DPW was notified, and an officer went to the location to assist in removing it.
Sunday, April 2
Someone stopped at the station at 6:49 a.m. to report a tree down on Bolton Road. An officer moved the tree aside for the DPW to pick up later. At 10:22 p.m. someone called to report that a car had gone off the road into a snowbank along West Bare Hill Road. Police checked the area but found no sign of an accident.
