During its April 10 meeting, Harvard’s Planning Board elected new officers. Erin McBee, last year’s vice chairwoman, is replacing Kara Minar (now a town selectwoman) as the board’s chairwoman. Rich Maiore, formerly an associate member, is now vice chairman. Michelle Catalina and Fran Nickerson will continue their terms as members. Liz Allard is the board’s clerk.
The departures of Minar and Don Graham (whose term expired this year), have left two vacancies. One of the vacancies is for a full member, the other for an associate member. While the Planning Board’s rules and regulations state that the board shall consist of five members, only three are needed to conduct normal business. Four members are needed to constitute a quorum for acting on special permit applications or other business that requires a supermajority.
Anyone interested in filling either vacancy must first submit a volunteer form to Executive Assistant Julie Doucet in the Board of Selectmen’s office. The selectmen and Planning Board will then meet in joint session to approve any appointments.
