For students looking forward to summer vacation, the good news is that the last day of school this year will be June 19, as approved by the School Committee Monday night. And that’s two days earlier than if all five snow days allowed for in the calendar had been needed.
The bad news is that June 19 is a Monday. So, instead of being completely free Friday afternoon with a long vacation stretching ahead, there will be one last day for saying goodbye to teachers, having lunch with friends, and making plans together for the summer.
