It gives me great pleasure to endorse Kara Minar for Board of Selectmen. I have known Kara since we both moved to Harvard more than 12 years ago. I have always found her to be a strong leader, one who is not afraid of challenges, who is able to work collaboratively, and as someone who listens to the concerns of others. During her tenure on the Planning Board, she has taken the long view: for example, seeing the Master Plan to conclusion and adoption in 2016, and working on improving zoning and site design for our small commercial district on Ayer Road.
She appreciates Harvard’s strong sense of community, both in its people and its landscape. She also knows that to preserve it we must adapt to change and address the challenges we will invariably face. As a member of the Board of Selectmen, she will help the board make careful and informed decisions that will have long-lasting impacts on the town and townspeople. She understands opportunities and is not afraid to embrace them. She understands community values and is not afraid to advocate for them.
