COA is back at Hildreth House

The COA has finally moved back into Hildreth House. Residents are invited to stop by to tour the building. An official open house will be scheduled for sometime in the spring.


Bromfield Student Council lunch

Bromfield’s student council will treat Harvard’s COA members and volunteers to lunch at the Bromfield cafeteria on Wednesday, March 8, at 12:30 p.m.


Visit to Apple store at Rockingham Mall

Join the COA for a 60-minute workshop at the Apple Store in Rockingham Mall in Salem, New Hampshire. The workshop and a question-and-answer period will be followed by lunch in the mall and time for shopping. The van leaves Hildreth House at 10 a.m. and returns at 3 p.m. No charge for the van. Call the COA for the date.


Let’s go to the movies

See a feature-length movie starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard on Monday, March 13, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall. The film is the story of an intelligence officer during World War II.


Life changes and transitions

Facilitated by Karen Campbell of Nashoba Nursing Service and Hospice, this is a drop-in group for those who would like to discuss and share their experiences of loss or change. The group will be held the second Monday of each month starting March 13, 1 to 2:30 p.m.


St. Patrick’s Day party

Join the COA Tuesday, March 14, at noon, for the annual St. Patrick’s Day luncheon at St. Theresa’s Church. The event will feature a traditional corned beef meal. Please reserve by March 7.


Tour and lunch at Nashoba Park Residences

The COA will offer a tour of Nashoba Park Assisted Living in Ayer on Wednesday, March 15. The van will leave Hildreth House at 11 a.m. and return after lunch.


Well-adult clinic

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Harvard Board of Health will hold a well-adult clinic Tuesday, March 21, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Church. Drop in for blood sugar, blood pressure, or pulse screening, and diet advice. No appointment is necessary. More information at 978-772-3335 or 1-800-427-9762, or visit www.nashoba.org.


Boston Flower Show

Visit the Boston Flower Show with the COA at the Seaport World Trade Center on Wednesday, March 22. The van will leave Havard at 10 a.m. Admission is $17, payable at the show; no charge for the van.


Tax relief available

Harvard’s Elderly and Disabled Tax Aid can assist residents to defray the cost of their property taxes. The funds consist totally of private donations and are distributed in accordance with established guidelines based on need. Applications are available at www.harvard.ma.us, the COA office, or the town treasurer’s office.


Fitness opportunites

The COA wants to know who would be interested in joining some new fitness programs:

  • Weekly or bi-weekly swim classes at Swymfit in Boxborough.
  • A daily, weekly, or bi-weekly walking group.
