Want a shuttle to/from commuter rail station?
The Harvard Planning Board would like to assess the interest of residents in a potential shuttle service to and from one of two stations (Ayer or Littleton) on the MBTA’s commuter rail line. A seven-question online survey, available until March 17, has been designed to measure demand for this service. Take the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/GJKS6HL.

The close of voter registration for Harvard’s April 1 Annual Town Meeting and April 4 Town Election is Friday, March 16.
Mud season and
Harvard trails
Mud season has started early this year, and with the ground vulnerable to potholes, rutting, and erosion as it thaws, Harvard’s Conservation Commission asks that horseback riders and bicyclists stay off town trails until they firm up. Trail walkers and runners are advised that some sections may be impassable with mud and water and that traffic skirting wet spots widens muddy areas; staying on the existing trail or rock-hopping is strongly advised. A good trail option at this time of year is the running track through the woods at Harvard Park. It is open to all users and is built with drainage and a compacted surface.
Come spring and when the ground is drier, horseback riding and biking are permitted on the primary (yellow) trails unless otherwise marked. Fields are protected for wildlife and agricultural use, so keep that in mind and pass around the periphery of fields if there is no trail. Harvard Tree Fund
seeks contributions
This is the 12th year of the Harvard Tree Fund’s collaboration with the Harvard Elm Commission to plant, protect, and nourish the town’s shade trees.
