Press release submitted by the Louise Bogan Poetry Group
The Louise Bogan Poetry Group, a chapter of the Massachusetts State Poetry Society, is observing National Poetry Month in April by sponsoring a no-fee poetry contest open to all students in grades 8-12. First prize is $50; second and third prizes are $25; additional awards include books and honorable mentions. Contest winners will be announced on April 27th at 6:30 p.m. at the annual Celebrate National Poetry Month public reading at the Lunenburg Public Library. Winners will be invited to read their poems.
Students may submit poems of up to 20 lines in length on any topic, and which are their own work, via email to LBPoetryContest2017@gmail.com. Send two copies, one with name/address/phone in the upper left, and one with no identification. Entries must be received by March 15, 2017.
