On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. Jim Parks of Wingmasters will bring live birds of prey to the library for a program for ages 6 and older.
Birds of prey, also known as raptors, are hunting birds characterized by hooked beaks and powerful, grabbing feet with sharp talons. They have excellent eyesight and the sharpest hearing in the animal kingdom.
Raptors include eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls, and the presentation gives an overview of these categories. The program also includes one or more endangered raptors that Wingmasters cares for, and explains why these species face an uncertain future. Seats are limited; please pre-register in the Children’s Room.
