Dorothy “Dottie” Ruth Charon, 90, of San Ramon, California, died Jan. 2, 2017.

Dottie was born in Harvard to Fred and Emma Lozier. She attended Bromfield Academy and was the Apple Blossom Queen in 1948. She married Leo Charon of Springfield in 1950. After living in New York and Vermont, the family moved to California in 1962. Dottie worked as a nurse for 20 years. Her hobbies were puzzles, painting, playing cribbage, and watching sports with family.

Dottie was predeceased by her husband, Leo; her sister Emma (Chic) Lozier; and her brother, Freddie Lozier. She is survived by her sister Nancy (Lozier) Woodsum; her children, David (Zoe), Donald, Robert, Denise Young (Doug), Michael (Mary), and Tamara Borden (Matt); 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
