Worcester County’s Register of Probate Stephanie K. Fattman (R-Webster) hosted a joyful exchange in the Probate and Family Court to gift more than 100 teddy bears to adopted children across Worcester County.
In a special ceremony, Register Fattman recognized Attorney David Callahan from the Law Office of Callahan, Barraco & Inman who donated the bears through the Sutton Lion’s Club. Register Fattman will help distribute the bears to each adoptive family that utilizes the court in 2017. “We are very thankful for the generosity of Attorney Callahan and the Sutton Lion’s Club for helping to make our adoption process more special. Our adoptees will be able to keep these bears forever as a reminder of this special day with their families,” Register Fattman said.

In conjunction with the donation, the Worcester Probate and Family Court hosted a special adoption ceremony for the gifting of the first bear. “It was a pleasure to be part of this collaborative ceremony in our court. Worcester County is fortunate to have the generosity and support of the community in the work that we do,” said Associate Judge Denise Meagher.
The Worcester Probate and Family Court hosts approximately 150 adoptions each year consisting primarily of step-parent, grand-parent and international adoptions. The teddy bear donation is part of Register Fattman’s efforts to build the court’s adoption program to make it more special for each family. In 2016 Register Fattman secured a grant through the state to purchase age appropriate gifts for each adoptee.
